Cheiridopsis

The genus Cheiridopsis occurs over a range stretching from southern Namibia southwards through the Northern Cape Province of South Africa into the northern part of the Western Cape Province. Winter rainfall is the norm within the range. Cheiridopsis is a large genus with a wide variety of growth patterns. Flowers can be white, yellow, orange, and purple. They need adequate water during their active period in the fall and winter. They prefer sandy soil and need lots of light to do well. Old leaves tend to stay and become unattractive. Cheiridopsis are easily grown from seed.
