Notes for the Genus:

Dorotheanthus

The genus Dorotheanthus occurs in the Western and Northern Cape Provinces of South Africa. Dorotheanthus are small herbaceous annuals with extremely attractive flowers. Seed sown in mid-winter will produce flowering plants by early spring and will blossom. They will not last the summer in oppressive heat. Though short-lived, their showy flowers make them beautiful horticultural subjects. Dorotheanthus are easily propagated by seed.
